BAO: The Ekiti Talk and Do Governor

Governor Oyebanji makes a promise, he delivers swiftly and without fail.

Since this Governor assumed office, not  a single day has Ekiti workers agitated for anything under his watch. No down tools by any sector. Governor Oyebanji keeps to his promises with them.  

Yesterday, Mr Governor approved the N70,000 new minimum wage for EVERY workers. Up till this minute, some social media accidental analysts who had predicted, out of bitterness, that Ekiti would not pay the N70, 000 are still groaning in shock. We have seen some oil-producing states approving the same N70,000 that Ekiti has just approved … just so you know. 

On Monday, the Governor fulfilled another pledge to the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Ekiti State chapter, with the presentation of a brand-new bus to ease their mobility challenges.

This same NULGE got a new building from Mr Governor last month, October 2024. They got paid some arrears recently as well. 

Few weeks ago, Nigeria Union of Pensioners also got a brand new bus from the Governor. They got paid some arrears too. 

Governor Oyebanji is known for staying true to his words. He plays no politics with the welfare of his people. He says what he can do, and if he can’t do it, he will tell you why. He is that straightforward. No corner, corner… no dribbling. Governor Oyebanji has demonstrated such integrity and responsiveness.

Expressing appreciation, NULGE President Comrade Oluseyi Olatunde lauded the Governor’s action, describing it as one that speaks to his sincerity, quick responsiveness, and steadfast commitment to solving problems. 

Governor Oyebanji doesn’t just make promises; he walks his talk. Ekiti continues to thrive under a leader whose actions speak louder than words, ensuring no sector is left behind in the shared prosperity agenda.

Governor Oyebanji has blown Ekiti people’s minds with his excellent and exceptional delivery of good governance to them. His performances are unmatched.

We have not hyped him enough. The hyping has not started; we are just warming up!

 LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMAN MOVES TO MAKE FOOD AVAILABLE AND AFFORDABLE

As part of many efforts to alleviate the burden of residents of Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government, the Chairman of local government, Hon Gbenga Oluwatuyi has announced a massive investment in agriculture through the cultivation of Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Farm.

The farm, situated on land owned by the local government is expected, in due course, to yield products that will be sold in markets across the local government at subsidised rates for residents of Irepodun/Ifelodun local Government.

This decision, according to the chairman, is based on his government's desire to drive the availability and affordability of food in the local government.

In view of the prevailing economic realities, this will no doubt reduce the economic burden on residents and make life easier for all. In his words, the people of Irepodun/Ifelodun are in for good times. The welfare of my people are my number one priority hence this initiative. This will be a continuos exercise till the end of the season when we will shift to another seasonal crop. We must tackle hunger in our midst” he said.

This is a testament to Hon. Gbenga Oluwatuyi's commitment to the welfare of those at the grassroot and the power of his vision to ensure that all residents of Irepodun/Ifelodun have access to affordable food.
