As part of many efforts to alleviate the burden of residents of Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government, the Chairman of local government, Hon Gbenga Oluwatuyi has announced a massive investment in agriculture through the cultivation of Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Farm.
The farm, situated on land owned by the local government is expected, in due course, to yield products that will be sold in markets across the local government at subsidised rates for residents of Irepodun/Ifelodun local Government.
This decision, according to the chairman, is based on his government's desire to drive the availability and affordability of food in the local government.
In view of the prevailing economic realities, this will no doubt reduce the economic burden on residents and make life easier for all. In his words, the people of Irepodun/Ifelodun are in for good times. The welfare of my people are my number one priority hence this initiative. This will be a continuos exercise till the end of the season when we will shift to another seasonal crop. We must tackle hunger in our midst” he said.
This is a testament to Hon. Gbenga Oluwatuyi's commitment to the welfare of those at the grassroot and the power of his vision to ensure that all residents of Irepodun/Ifelodun have access to affordable food.
